WORCESTER — The Worcester Regional Transit Authority is moving to acquire property on Quinsigamond Avenue for its new $60 million vehicle maintenance and operations center by December, according to WRTA Administrator Stephen F. O’Neil.
The WRTA is seeking to purchase nearly 11 acres at 40 Quinsigamond Ave., across from Crompton Park. The property is owned by NSTAR, the Boston-based gas and electric utility.
A purchase-and-sale agreement for the property was supposed to be signed between the two parties on Friday, according to a timetable Mr. O’Neil has provided the City Council.
