WESTBOROUGH — Only a handful of riders so far have taken the new shuttle connecting local office parks with the MBTA station, but regional planners say the bus will satisfy the longstanding need to link city-dwelling commuters to their suburban jobs.
The new shuttle service started Monday, running 13 weekday round trips through Westborough, including morning and evening trips to the office parks and MBTA station that coincide with inbound and outbound trains.
Several regional planning groups, along with Westborough town officials, hatched the idea for the commuter shuttle more than a year ago.
