Greenville-based transit company Proterra Inc. announced it delivered an additional three transit buses to Worcester Regional Transit Authority in Massachusetts.
The three zero-emission battery-electric transit buses brought the authority’s Proterra bus fleet to six, after the it ordered an initial three buses in September 2012 using funds from a $4.4 million Federal Transit Authority Clean Fuels grant. Proterra EcoRide BE35 battery-electric buses now make up a full 13% of the authority’s fleet, making it the largest fleet of electric buses in revenue service in North America.
